Thanks, Serge, for the quick, professional, and reasonably priced service. Will use you again - highly recommend!
Overview
Serge Pavlenko started TCJ Hauling in 2017 with a construction background and a West Sacramento address. The idea: a junk pickup should be the easiest thing on your list. Nine years and more than 3,000 jobs later, it is still one local crew, and he still answers the phone. Same-day service most days, the price confirmed before anything is lifted, and 255 five-star Google reviews, most of which mention him by name.
At a glance
- Upfront pricing from $99, confirmed before we start
- Same-day and next-day appointments, open 24 hours a day
- Full service: we lift, load, haul and sweep up
- Licensed and insured, locally owned in West Sacramento
- We donate what is usable and recycle what we can
- No tips expected and no hidden dump fees
About the Owner: How Serge Got Into Junk Removal
Serge did not plan on hauling. He studied Construction Management (Engineering) at Sacramento State, with a minor in Business Administration, and went to work as a field engineer. Later he ran maintenance for an assisted living community, where the rules about safety, property and procedure are strict for good reason. Along the way he picked up a C-5 Framing Contractor’s License, OSHA-30 training and certifications in forklift operation, scaffolding and flagging.
The turn came on his first junk removal job, years before the company existed. He cleared a space for someone and watched what it did for them: the room was usable again, and so was the person. That stuck. In 2017 he put the two together, 12 years of construction, facility management and jobsite safety on one side and that first cleared room on the other, and started the company from West Sacramento.
It shows on every job: door frames checked before a dresser goes through, the truck loaded tight so you pay for less space, and no lifting that would fail an OSHA inspection.
How Our Junk Removal Process Works
Five steps, the same on a single chair as on a whole house:
- 01
Free estimate
Text photos or ask for an on-site look. You get a real number before the truck is scheduled, not a range that firms up at the door.
- 02
Same-day pickup available
The truck is kept unloaded between jobs on purpose, so a call at ten can often be a pickup at noon.
- 03
Safe removal and loading
Bulky pieces go in first, small items last, and anything marked for donation rides separately so it arrives clean. Usable items go to a charity when they will take them; metal goes to a recycler.
- 04
Responsible disposal
Local disposal rules and metal recycling standards all get followed, which is why nothing comes back to you later.
- 05
Final sweep and satisfaction check
Before the truck leaves, the space is swept and you have looked it over. Anything not right gets fixed then, not by email next week.

Specialized Services
Most jobs fall into one of the services below. One honest limit: we do not haul mixed construction and demolition debris. Single-material loads of metal, concrete or clean wood are fine; a dumpster’s worth of drywall, tile and lumber is not.

Real Job Stories
The client who could not afford the standard price
A man facing eviction called with a deadline and not enough money for the normal rate. Serge adjusted the price so he could get out on time and with his dignity intact. The job is about helping people get control of a room back, and sometimes that means the number moves.
The empty truck that turned into a same-day pickup
After a big job, Serge unloaded the truck that evening instead of the next morning, in case someone needed it. Minutes later a woman called: her father’s garage had to be cleared that day. The truck was already empty, so it was.
The tree across a property entrance
A property manager called in a storm with a fallen tree blocking residents’ only way in. The crew was there within the hour and cleared the entry in the rain. The trucks carry lighting and tools for exactly that kind of night.
Three habits run through all of them: think ahead, stay prepared, serve people first.
Customer Testimonials
Steven Y., Yelp“Big plus that he doesn’t upsell. Most haulers price you on volume so they’ll throw items in loosely to increase the price, Serge loads as tightly as possible, which actually saves you money.”
Kenny Pierce, Google“I am a repeat customer of Serge’s and have been using his services for about 4 years now. He is quick, thorough, personable, and extremely fair in his pricing.”
Aleesa Greenfeld, Google“Call Serge First! If you want (1) an excellent price for your job(s), (2) someone who will do an excellent job, (3) someone who truly cares about providing excellent service, and (4) someone you can trust, call Serge!”

Expert Advice & Resources
How to prepare for junk removal
- Know what is going: point to it or mark it with a sticky note
- Show us the whole scope before loading starts
- Bulky items go in first, small items last
- Donation items go in last, so they come out clean.
What can be recycled?
- Mattresses and box springs (clean, no bed bugs)
- Metals of every kind
- Appliances (processed at the landfill; fees apply)
- E-waste
- Some wood and household items.
Junk removal vs dumpster rental
Junk removal wins for mixed loads because the crew does the loading and the sorting. A dumpster means you load it yourself, follow its sorting limits, pay extra fees and give up driveway space for days. Read the comparison.
Transparent Pricing
Most loads are priced by the share of the truck they fill: a minimum load is $99 to $150, a full truck $850 to $1,000. Large or specialty items (appliances, hot tubs, pianos) are priced individually, and a few jobs go by weight. The number is confirmed before work starts, with no tip expected. See the full pricing guide.
