We sweep where the pile stood and sort the load in the truck. Clean furniture goes to a Sacramento charity when we can, metal to scrap, the rest to the transfer station.

- Furniture is priced by bulk: a three-seat couch takes more truck than a recliner, and a solid oak armoire weighs more than it looks.
- Attics and basements take longer because of ladders and stairs. That access is part of the quote, not a surprise at the end.
- Treadmills and home gyms often have to come apart to fit through the door. They are priced on the space they take once loaded.
- Hot tubs ($300 to $600+) and sheds (from $250) are flat-rate jobs that include the cutting, teardown and hauling.

Full-Service Junk Removal or City Pickup: Which One You Need
If you live in the City of Sacramento and have city trash service, you get free appointment-based bulky pickups, a few items at a time. For one couch you can carry to the curb and wait for, use it. We would rather say that than take $99 for something the city does for free.

The third option is hauling it yourself to Kiefer Landfill or the Sacramento Recycling and Transfer Station, where you pay by weight. That works if you own a truck, have a second person and a free morning. Most people calling about an estate cleanout or a garage have none of the three.
Residential Junk Removal Pricing
One couch is a minimum load. A garage is usually a half truck. A full move-out can be a full truck or two. Our junk removal pricing is confirmed before we start, not worked out after the truck is loaded, and there is no fuel surcharge or dump fee added later.
What Affects Pricing
Volume first: the share of the truck your items fill. Then weight, because the transfer station charges us by the ton, so a load of concrete or tile costs more to dump than the same volume of boxes. Then access: a third-floor walk-up, a long carry from a back yard or a packed garage we have to dig through all take crew time. Full-home and move-out junk removal take more labor than a single pickup.
