Junk Removal in Placer County, CA

Placer County gives us two different kinds of work. Down in Roseville, Rocklin and Lincoln, the homes are new and the garages fill fast. Bonus rooms turn into storage, kids outgrow bunk beds, and a tenant moves out of a Whitney Ranch rental with a living room still in it. That is steady household work: furniture, appliances, garage clears and rental turnovers, usually a quarter to a half truck at a time.

Up the hill it changes. Auburn, Loomis, Penryn, Newcastle and Colfax have older houses on wooded lots, and the jobs come with outbuildings. A shed that has not been opened since the nineties, a tractor's worth of limbs after a storm, a barn full of a parent's tools. Those are long driveways and gate codes, so we ask about access when you book and send a truck that can turn around.

Granite Bay, with its estate homes near Folsom Lake, is where our biggest local jobs happen: whole-garage clears, post-remodel cleanouts and full-property clearings that take several loads. And in Sun City Lincoln Hills we do the slowest, most careful version of the work: downsizing with a resident who is deciding piece by piece what goes.

A lot of Placer County is also first-time homeowners. The previous owner left a workbench, a dead fridge and a stack of pavers behind the shed. We clear that in one visit, usually before the moving truck arrives.

If two people can carry it and it is not hazardous, it goes on the truck. The full list of cleanout services is long; this is what actually shows up on a Placer County schedule in a normal week:

• Furniture. Couches, sectionals, dressers, dining sets and the sleeper sofa with the steel frame still inside. Any condition. Charities turn away stained or torn pieces, so those are most of what we take.
• Mattresses and box springs. Curbside programs often limit them. We take them, and they are gone.
• Appliances. Refrigerators, washers, dryers and stoves cannot go to the curb in California. We take them to a recycler where a certified technician recovers the refrigerant. Have water and gas lines disconnected before we arrive; we do not do that part.
• Electronics. A few TVs, monitors or computers ride along with a regular pickup. A whole office's worth should go straight to an e-waste recycler.
• Exercise equipment. Treadmills run 250 pounds or more and are usually upstairs. We take them apart on the spot.
• Hot tubs, pianos, pool tables and safes. Hot tubs run $300 to $600 and up depending on size and access. The rest we quote from a photo.
• Yard waste, old fencing and sheds. Storm limbs, dead landscaping, a shed taken down to the slab.
• Remodel leftovers. Old cabinets, vanities, fixtures and appliances. Mixed demolition debris (drywall, roofing, tile mixed with wood) is a job for a C&D hauler or a dumpster. We take single-material loads only: metal, concrete or clean wood, with concrete priced by weight.
• Garage, attic and storage-unit clutter. Boxes, tools, bikes and the "someday" pile. This is the most common Placer County job by a wide margin.

The hazardous list is short and it is the law, not a preference: wet paint, motor oil, chemicals, solvents, pesticides, propane tanks and asbestos. Placer County residents can drop those off free at the Western Placer Waste Management Authority facility on Athens Avenue in Lincoln (daily limits apply). Leftover house paint is also accepted free at PaintCare retail drop-off sites. Asbestos needs a licensed abatement contractor, not a hauler. Once a property is clear of those, we take the rest.

Two other limits: we cannot carry very heavy inert loads past the truck's weight limit, so dirt and rock are small amounts alongside a regular load or a single-material load priced by weight. And we do not disconnect gas, water or electrical; a plumber or electrician does that first.
