Construction Debris in Sacramento — What We Take and What We Don’t

A remodel or tear-out leaves behind a pile that a couple of trash cans won’t touch — drywall, old flooring, cabinets, lumber, and broken fixtures. That mixed pile is a job for a licensed construction and demolition (C&D) hauler or a dumpster, not for us. Take Care Junk is a junk removal service: we clear household junk, furniture, appliances and yard waste, and we will look at a single-material construction load — metal only, concrete only, or clean wood only.

What This Means for Contractors

A clean site keeps the job moving, but mixed demolition debris has to be separated before a facility will take it, and that sorting is not something we do. If your debris is already separated into one material, call and we will tell you what we can do. If it is a mixed pile, a C&D hauler or a dumpster will serve you better and we would rather say so up front than turn up and decline the job.

• Roofing tear-off — shingles, tar paper, sheathing
• Loads of dirt, sod, rock, or other heavy fill
• What we will look at: metal only, concrete only, or clean wood only

If your load is one we can take, booking is simple. Here’s exactly what to expect:

• 1. Book online or call. Tell us what you have and where it is. Pick a time window that works — same-day and weekend slots are usually available.
• 2. Get an upfront quote. When our crew arrives, we look at the item, confirm the price on the spot, and only start once you say go. No hourly meter, no surprises.
• 3. We do the lifting. Our insured two-person crew carries everything out — down stairs, through tight doorways, wherever it sits. You never touch it.
• 4. We haul it off responsibly. We donate what’s usable and recycle what we can before anything heads to the landfill, then sweep up and go.

Where Single-Material Loads Go

Kept separate, a lot of construction material is recyclable — clean wood, metal, cardboard, and concrete all have their own facilities, and that is exactly why we take those loads one material at a time. Mixed together they stop being recyclable, which is the real reason we don’t take mixed loads. If your project carries green-building or diversion paperwork, a licensed C&D hauler is the right partner for it.

What Affects the Price

Single-material loads are priced by volume and weight. Heavy inert material like concrete fills a truck’s weight limit long before it fills the box, so those loads are priced accordingly and we may only be able to fill the truck part way. Access matters too — a pile at the curb is quicker than one carried up from a basement. You get a firm, upfront quote before we load, with no hidden dump fees. We can’t take hazardous materials like asbestos; those need a licensed abatement contractor first.
